Re: Baird SFR Permit 05-252
The project,site during excavation for footing encountered hard lava cap. in lieu of
digging conventional footing the stem wall should be pinned into the lava. The pinning
shall be #4 bar at 24" o.c. and epoxied into the lava with a 5" min embedment.
For the point load footings and that typical lava exceeds the bearing capacity four the
point loads on this project and no concrete pad footings should be required. The tem wall
at the point load should be pinned as listed above.

Conditions for Sewage Disposal Permits in the Mountain Oaks Subdivision
1. Tank location per plan. Minimum setback 5' from property line or any structure.
2. 24-hour tank tightness test: Connect inlet sewer line (stub okay if elevated or capped) to
tank with inlet tee and epoxy seal for water test; fill the tank with water 2 inches into the
risers and let sit for at least a day before calling the inspector to start the test. Backfilling
around the tank is not recommended until the tank passes (or leave at least top three feet
(3') of tank exposed).
3. Install risers with a watertight seal (no water should enter tank).
4. Test run of pump for final inspection. Pump may be installed prior to tank tightness test,
however, if tank fails water test, the pump may require removal. Allow inspection of
sewer tight line and sewer gate valve.
5.' Minimum depth for sewer line is twelve inches (12").

For your protection you should be aware that as "owner -builder" you are the responsible party of record on such a
permit. Building permits are not required to be signed by property owners unless they are personally performing their own
work. If your work is being performed by someone other than yourself, you may protect yourself from possible liability if
that person applies for the proper permit in his or her name.
Contractors are required by law to be licensed and bonded by the State of California and to have a business license
from the city or county. They are also required by law to put their license number on all permits for which they apply.

aware of the following information for your benefit and protection:
o If you employ or otherwise engage any persons other than your immediate family, and the work (including materials
and other costs) is $200 or more for the entire project and such persons are not licensed as contractors or
subcontractors, then you may be an employer.
o If you are an employer, you must register with the state and federal government as an employer and you are subject
to several obligations including state and federal income tax withholding, federal social security taxes, workers'
compensation insurance, disability insurance costs, and unemployment compensation contributions.
o There may be financial risks for you if you do not carry out these obligations, and these risks are especially serious
with respect to workers' compensation insurance.
o For more specific information about your obligations under federal law, contact the Internal Revenue Service (and,
if you wish, the U.S. Small Business Administration). For more specific information about your obligations under

If the structure is intended for sale, property owners who are not licensed contractors are allowed to perform their
work personally or through their own employees, without a licensed contractor or subcontractor, only under limited

permit, erroneously implying that the property owner is providing his or her own labor and material personally. Building
permits are not required to be signed by property owners unless they are performing their own work personally.

the following conditions of approval.

Ranch property owners that the storage pond and irrigated areas
and facilities will have an easement granted in perpetuity and nonrevocable.
Construct access road to the storage pond to the RS -8 -LD -I off-site
road standard.
33. Provide written verification of water service or availability to
serve from the Lime Saddle Community Services District. If not available,
a plan of the water system including well location pipelines, storage
and pressure tanks shall be submitted to Environmental Health Department
for review and approval. A small water company permit will then
be.required from the Health Department.
34. Design the water system to accommodate future connection to the overall
Lime Saddle Community Services District system.
