The following are all the possible ways of calculating parking for the project; 1. If the project were considered a lodge or a club the ordnance would require one (1) space per each 100 sq.ft. of gross floorspace. It Ls my understanding that he will request an additional extension of time of 60 days to obtain the Building Permit. This office has been corresponding and working with. John Snout since the Spring of 1987, and he is still, occupying the new building and deck without approvals from this office and has not obtained the required permits. fie received the use permit on September 20, 1988. One of the conditions was to obtain the building permit within 60 days of the date of the use permit. He ,made the permit applications on May 1, 1989, (almost 8 months later), after a February 21, 1989 Code Violation Letter. I believe Mr. Scott has had more than adequate time for compliance and should not be given any additional time extensions unless he vacates the building and deck. The building and deck combined are easily capable of accomodati.ng 100 or more people, so continued use and occv ancy without full code compliance should not be condoned by the County. After permit issuance, the building and deck must bealtered to conform to code requirements, and after approval from this office could then be occupied, Yours -very truly, William Cheff Director of Public Works JFG:daj d. August 24, 1989 COUNTY OF BUTTS Department of Planning 7 County Center Drive Oroville, California c RHi JOHN W. SCOTT ATTN: Mrs. Bettye Kirsher. Dear Bettye. Per our telephone discussion of August 18, 1989, 1 wish to confirm my intention to request a 60 -day continuance from the date of the Planning Commission hearing scheduled for September 14, 1989 for the subject project. Due to a illness, it is not possible for Cal to complete the necessary engineering to obtain approval of this project ,from the building department at this time. All other items needing compliance by Mr. Scott have been completed, i have contacted Commissioner Lambert, and she feels the Planning Commission will be inclined to grant a 60 -day continuance under the circumstances. Additionally, I contacted Mr. Jim Glander of the Building Department. Although Mr. Glander agrees that the request for a continuance is for a valid reason, he will, not, however, support the request from the Building Department's standpoint. 1 will personally attend the September 14, 1989 Planning Commission meeting and will be requesting a 60 -day continuance for the subject project. I would like. to thank you for your understanding and help in this matter. Sincerely, ornmw T1LL' BACHMAN JB:jb ENGINEERING SURVEYING PLANNING DESfGNING 3012 The Esplanade, Chico, California 95926 Telephone: (916) 342-4136 t I
