Gentlemen:
Pursuant to your letter of August 212 1984,.requesting initiation of the abandonment
of the easterly .20 feet of Lot 56 of Map Book 5, Page 27, which .is a.portion of a
strip of land reserved for.public use by the aforementi6ned..subd vision map, this
departmentrecommends against this abandonment because it appears the potential
need for future public use of this.. strip of land is still as great,.or perhaps greater,'
today as when originally subdivided. The extensive subdivision of land that has
.taken place in.this section of .the Chico area since the ogiginal subdivision points
out the need to continue to .reserve this strip of land for future public use.- We
foresee the use of this strip of land -being needed for public use f.or multiple
reasons such as roadways, drairage.facilities and sanitary sewers that will be needed
to serve this area.
If.yo.0 wish to con.tinue.this abandonment proceeding, please complete the fallowing
requirements and return to this office.
1. Get signatures and addresses on the attached petition.for abandonment of
adjoining property owners who.may have an interest in said public roadway, plus
other property owners in the area, totaling.ten or more.
2.. Date petition.
We need letters from all utility companies stating they no longer need said easement..
Submit a check to this office in :the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) made out to the.
Butte County Treasurer:
