Dear Mr. Wood:
On May 29th, 2007, a CGi Technical Services Inc., representative verified tensioning of the
ASTM A325 high-strength bolts at the referenced project site. Bolts and nuts were
identified per the AISC Manual of Steel Construction:

Tensioning was by the calibrated wrench method. Our representative calibrated the
erectors tensioning procedures using three -bolt assemblages for each bolt length and
diameter in our Skidmore Wilhelm Tension calibrator.
Based on the calibration tests and our observations, to the best of our knowledge, the
work was completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Tensioning
at the observed connections meet the minimum tension requirements of the Uniform
Building Code.
We have employed generally accepted inspection and testing procedures. However, we do
not undertake the guarantee of construction nor do we relieve the contractor of his
primary responsibility to produce a completed project conforming to the project plans and
specifications. No warranty, either express or implied is made.

NOTICE TO BUILDERS
Before your building permit can be issued, your plans must be checked for compliance with the California Building Codes. In
addition, your plans are routed to other regulatory entities including but not limited to Planning, Public Works, Environmental
Health, and the California Department of Forestry for their clearances and approvals. There are some things you can do to
expedite your permit:
0 Make sure your application is complete.
0 Be responsive to requests from County departments for any additional materials or requirements.
The Building Division places its highest priority on processing building permits as quickly as possible and each day that passes
without a complete application adds to processing time.
Every permit issued by the Building Official shall expire and become null and void if the work authorized by such permit is not
started or completed within one year from the date of issuance of such permit. A permit may be renewed (for a fee) prior to
expiration an indefinite number of times, provided construction progress has been documented by the Building Division during
each year during scheduled inspections. No changes may be made in the original plans and specifications for such work. In
order to reinstate action on a permit after expiration, the permittee shall pay a new full permit fee and additional plan checking
and documentation may be required. Upon completion of work covered by this permit, please contact this office for final
inspection. As a reminder to you, it is illegal to occupy this building or any portion of the building for which this permit is
issued without a final inspection.
EXPIRATION OF PERMIT APPLICATION AND REFUND POLICY
Application for which a permit has not been issued will expire one year after date of application.
Refunds may only be made upon written request by the person who originally paid the fees. Refunds for permit applications
(not yet issued) must be requested within two years from the date of fee payment. Fees paid at the time of application are
for Plan Check and administration. The Plan Check portion of fees is refundable only if the permit is cancelled or withdrawn
before any plan checking is done. Building Division costs will be deducted prior to authorizing a refund and a charge of
$54.99 to process the refund application will be assessed. Refunds on permits (issued) may be requested prior to the expiration
of the permit, provided no work has been done pursuant to the permit. An Inspection may be required (and deducted from any
refund amount) to determine no work was done.

Dear Mr. Kuster:
In your comments on the above project, you listed the requirement for special inspection
of the bolts embedded in concrete per CBC 1701. This section references CBC 1923.2
governing the strength design of anchorage to concrete which was used to design the
anchor bolts for this project.
Section 1923.2 requires the use of an additional load factor multiplier of 2 in the case
where special inspection is not required. In the design of the anchor bolts on calculation
sheets 5, 9 and 12 this factor is applied to the load factors to increase the live load factor
from 1.7 to 3.4 and the 75% wind load factor to 2.1.
Special inspection of these anchor bolts is not required for this project.

On January 17, 2005, a CurryGroup representative observed tensioning of the 518 -inch diameter ASTM
A325 high-strength bolts at the referenced project site. Bolts and nuts were identified per the AISC
Manual of Steel Construction,
Tensioning was by the calibrated wrench method. Our representative:calibrated the erectors tensioning
procedures using three -bolt assemblages for each bolt length and diameter in our Skidmore Wilhelm
Tension calibrator. Following calibration, our representative verified that tensioning was completed at
each tension connection.
Based on the calibration tests and our observations, to the best of our knowledge, the work was
completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. pensioning at the observed
connections meet the minimum tension requirements of the Uniform Building Code.
We have employed generally accepted inspection and testing procedures. However, we do not
undertake the'guarantee of construction nor do we relieve the contrkttor of his primary responsibility
to produce a completed project conforming to the project plans and specifications. No warranty, either
express or Implied is made.

SIZE SHALL BE A MAXIMUM OF 1-1/2" IN FOUNDATION5 AND 3/4" AT ALL OTHER
LOCATIONS. SLUMP SHALL NOT EXCEED 4". CURING COMPOUND SHALL BE SPRAYED
ON ALL EXPOSED SURFACES IMMEDIATELY AFTER FINAL TROWELLING.
2. ALL CEMENT SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM STANDARD C-150, ALL AGGREGATES SHALL
CONFORM TO A5TM STANDARD C-33.
3. CONCRETE USED FOR FOUNDATIONS AND SLA55 ON GRADE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM
28 -DAY COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 2500 PSI. AND SHALL NOT CONTAIN LE55
THAN 5 SACKS OF CEMENT PER CUBIC YARD.
4. REINFORCING BAR SIZES 04 AND SMALLER SHALL SHALL BE GRADE 40 (FY -40,000
PSI) AND BARS S AND LARGER SHALL BE GRADE 60 (FY -60,000 PSI). ALL
REINFORCING SHALL CONFORM TO A5TM STANDARD A-615 EXCEPT WHERE REBAR 15
TO BE WELDED WHERE REINFORCING CONFORMING TO A5TM A'106 SHALL BE USED.
5. REINFORCING MAY BE WELDED ONLY AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS. TACK WELDING
TO HOLD FOR ALIGNMENT SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED UNLESS APPROVED BY THE

WIRE MESH: 6" OR I WIRE SPACE IN SIDE5, 12" OR 2 -WIRE SPACES a ENDS.
WHERE ALL BARS IN A MAT OR SECTION OF A BEAM ARE SPLICED AT THE SAME
LOCATION OR MORE THAN 12" OF FRESH CONCRETE IS TO BE PLACED BELOW THE BARS,
THE ABOVE DISTANCES SHALL BE INCREASED AN ADDITIONAL 301%.
SPLICES IN BARS LARGER THAN 08 SHALL BE ONLY AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS.
