July 26o 1905 John Mendonsa Assistant Director of public Works County Center Drive oroville, CA 95965 Dear John r Captain Harold. Carling of the California Department u,' Fish Game and I met at the site ray r_re a new 30" culvert has bee.' placed ho discharge into Lindo Channel, just south of Alamo Avenue in C' .' co. As I mentioned to you Loreviously, this culvert dumps drainage water into an area of L;indo Channel that, is not connected to the main channel. The water from this culvert accumulates and breeds mosquitoes. our expectation is that unless corrected the mosquito problem will increase as future developments connect their drainage systems to this culvert. We therefore request that as mitigation for connecting to this culvert Lhat a ditch be constructed to grade that would roughly follow an existing foot path from the culvert to the main channel. Locating the ditch in this area will minimize the riparian habitat that would need to be removed, and shorten the distance that the ditch will need to be constructed. Captain Carling is in agreement with this proposal and has stated such on a stream bed alteration form,(copy enclosed) Fish and Game would like at least 30 days advance notice of the ,y project datei we would also like to be contacted prior to construction of the ditch so that we may confirm the exact location. If you have any questions retarding this proposal, please give me a caul. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Sincerely, James Cainy Assistant tanager JC/db cc: Capt.
