13 (C) A TWO-STAGE THERMOSTAT, which controls the supplementary heat on

(B) TANK INSULATION. Storage type water heaters and storage and
backup tanks' for solar systems shall be externally wrapped with
R-12 insulation or greater.
(C) PIPE INSULATION. The five feet of pipe closest to the water
heater and outside conditioned.space shall be insulated with a
minimum of R-3. Steam and steam conditioned space shall be
