Building permits are not required to be signed by property owners unless they are personally performing their own work. If your work is being performed by someone other than yourself, you may protect yourself from possible liability if that person applies for the proper permit in his or her name. The water heater is now drawn located over the Kitchen, Nook area, with access from the crawlhole in the Pantry. No permanent ladder is necessary due to it's 8' ceiling height. Also, the water heater is not a direct vent type but a standard roof vent style. 3. All ceiling joist throughout are 16" on center, and are indicated as such now. 4. I drew orange highlighted walls on Floor; Foundation and Roof Framing Plans to coordinate the bearing walls. 5. 28" x 28" x 12" footings were added to the Foundation Plans as requested at each end of the Glu Lam in the Garage. This addition was approved by Greg Peitz per phone conversation dated 9/17/97, and he indicated no further engineering was required for this change. In response to items #1-3 in the letter dated 9/10/97 1. Notes were added on Framing detail sheet and Roof Framing Plan to specify where collar ties and ceiling ties will be used. In general, 1x6 collar ties will be installed at 4' centers at all ridge areas, and 1x6 ceiling ties will be installed where ceiling joists are broken with raised ceilings or other interruptions from plate line to plate line at 4' centers. Most rooms that have standard ceiling joist arrangements will not need ceiling ties. 2. I squared up the foundation transition from footing to slab, the slanted transition was a error on my part, and was not intended to be formed in that manner. 3.
