The Butte County Assessor's records indicate you are the owner of the property. On February 8, 1988, I visited the above listed property and the tenant, Paula Hughes allowed me to inspect her rental dwelling. The f-ollowina conditions were observed which are in violation of the California Health and Safety Code, Section 17920.3 (a), (b)(6), (d), (e) and (g)(2); and which.pose health and safety hazards to the tenants, and render the house substandard. 1. Carport roof supports are not anchored properly and could be bumped out causing roof to collapse. r 2. Wiring is not protected in area above range hood and is hanging loose in cabinet area. 3. Water heater flue is single wall. Water heater lacks a temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line, and a gas shut off valve on the gas service line. 4. Range hood flue is incomplete between hood and ceiling. 5. Roof leak is evident above bathtub. 6. Door sill has completely rotted away by'front entry door. 7. Windows (louver) are not weathertight. 8. Check fireplace installation. Obtain all required permits from the Butte County Department of Public Works, 196 Memorial Way, Chico, CA, prior to making repairs. 1. Properly anchor carport supports so they cannot be easily dislodged. 2. Provide protection and anchorage for unprotected wiring above range hood. 3. Provide a proper installation for the water heater, with double wall flue, temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line, and gas -shut-off on gas service line. 4. Provide complete flue to exterior of roof from range hood. 5. Repair or replace leaking roof over bathroom. 6. Repair or replace rotted entry door sill. 7. Make all windows weathertight. 8. Verify that wood fired fire place is a proper installation. A reinspection will be made. Failure to comply, will result in the Franchise Tax Board being advised of your noncompliance. You will then be prevented from claiming state tax deductions for taxes, depreciation, amortization, or interest expenses connected with the property as long as it remains substandard.
