The bedroom conversion was done by a previous owner without permits and inspections from this office, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection without going on the roof, under -the building or in the attic and found the bedroom appears to conform to the intent of Housing Code requirements, except for the following items which must be done or resolved: 1) Provide a smoke detector at entrance to bedroom. 2) Protect exposed wiring from:piysical damage in the utility room and outside rear of building. 3) The riser heights on the rear steps must be equal heights within 3/8" maximum tolerance (8" maximum height). 4) Remove wood within 6" of the ground on the perimeter of the building. This inspection by. the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said bedroom. The bedroom conversion was done by a previous owner without permits and , inspections from this office, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection without going on the roof, under the building or in the attic and found the bedroom appears to conform to the intent of Housing Code requirements, except for the following items which must be done or resolved: 1) Provide a smoke detector at entrance to bedroom. 2) Protect exposed wiring from physical damage in the utility room and outside rear of building. 3) The riser heights on the rear steps must be equal heights within 3/8" maximum tolerance (8" maximum height). 4) Remove wood within 6" of the ground on the perimeter of the building. This inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said bedroom. It is now in order for you to apply for the required permits to do the above work and pay the appropriate•fees. This permit must•be obtained and the above listed items completed within thirty days of the date of this letter and before occupancy.
