APN # A difficult site problem has been discovered at the above-mentioned property. The existing septic fields, installed in 1990, are too close to the building footprint location of a proposed new house. Moving the house is not possible because of the extremely small size of the PUD lot, and also because of the restriction to the buildable foot print location. A proposed solution is shown in the attached detail. If the footing depth is increased by the equivalent amount by which the required septic clearance is encroached, the building load path will be fully resolved in a manner similar to the situation without such an encroachment. The rational for this is shown in the drawing. The line of influence of the original load path from the footing establishes a point of intersection below the required septic field. Although the actual footing intrudes into this set back, this actual point of intersection can be structurally maintained by lowering the footing into the soil by an amount equivalent amount. A second line of influence, which returns to the new footing position, shows this. This detail is limited to approximately forty linear feet of footing. If this detail meets with your approval please so indicate. The letter and the attached detail will then be attached to the actual building drawings when they are submitted for plan check.
