(C) A TWO-STAGE THERMOSTAT, which controls the supplementary heat on
its second stage, shall be required for heat pumps.

Ud' (B) TANK INSULATION. Storage type water heaters and storage and
backup tanks for solar systems shall be externally wrapped with
R-12 insulation or greater.
[� (C) PIPE INSULATION. The five feet of pipe closest to the water
heater and outside conditioned space shall be insulated with a
minimum of R-3. Steam and steam conditioned space shall be
insulated with a minimum of R-3. Steam and steam condensation
return piping and recirculating hot water piping outside the
building envelope shall be insulated in accordance with
T20 -1408(d).
Q/ (D) FLOW RESTRICTORS shall be provided for showerheads and faucets
as outlined in the new appliance efficiency standards and shall
be certified to the Energy Commission.
(7) LIGHTING
