NON-STRUCTURAL COMMENTS:
Provide location of heating and cooling equipment.
The required fire separation assembly between the garage and the house must be installed to
provide a complete separation. Assembly must be carried to the roof sheathing. Framing for
the roof interferes with this requirement. All walls and ceiling will need to be covered with
5/8th's Type X sheetrock to meet the requirement for a complete separation.

The size of the roof truss is not noted on the plan so I'm assuming you will be using a 11
7/81h's member. Please confirm size you will be using.
Please provide two sets of energy calculations. You signed our handout for energy
requirements but your plan does not meet the requirements set out on the handout. If you
were to use this handout you will need to change your plans to meet the following
requirements: rovide a larger roof truss to meet requirement for R-38 insulation and one
inch air gap for roof venting. R-38 insulation will not fit into a 117/8th's rafter without
compressing the batt and then you have a reduced R -value of 37, without required venting.
Provide an Energy Standards approved radiant barrier. q ie windows'must meet both the U -
factor and the solar heat gain coefficient -therefore, you cannot re -use existing sliding glass
door. You will need to provide anew sliding glass door. Your ductwork to the new room
will be required to be sealed and tested for code ompliance for air leakage, you will need to
