In your letter you stated your office was advised we had constructed a carport on our property at 10 La Placita Way in Chico, without a permit and in violation of building codes Somehow, your office has been misinformed, as we have made no construction whatsoever. The carport is exactly as it was when we purchased the property two years ago, from Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Valdez. (With the exception of roof repair.) I have called your office and talked with Mr. Sweet and Mr. Lawson, and was advised to write your office explaining this situation, and it was suggested that perhaps we might obtain a variance to allow the carport to remain as it is. Our Chico inspector advise* that the carport is constructed on the property line which also to in violation of the zoning five foot (S ft.) sideyard require- ment.
