Based on research statistics it is estimated that the increase in traffic oa ld, fall in the range of 1 000 - 3,000 ADT. The actual increase could be more or less than this estimate and,. would depend on the extent of R-4 development and the type of commercial uses which become established: Existing traffic counts in the area are 5700 ADT on Highway 99 and 1337 ADT on Eaton Road. Both of these --IMac s have z e capacity to absorb the anticipated traffic increases. Some congestion may result at the Hicks Lane/Eaton Road inter- section. The main entrance to the subdivision off Eaton Road is 600 feet east of the Hicks Lame intersection and. 700 feet east of the freeway on/off ramp, which is an adequate distance accoraing to Hal Trosin, assistant traffic engineer for Cal- , trans, Marysville. He stated his agency would prefer to see Hicks Lane (a "tee" intersection on the north side of Eaton.) realigned to intersect with Eaton 500 feet farther east where Bridle Lane presently intersects. The 100 foot separation b%tween the Hicks Lane present alignment and the Freeway on is desireable situation. However, the proposed ramp not a subdivision entrance is far enough away (600feet) to not significantly 'aggravate this existingproblem. 13 b A significant amount of new parking areas will be re- quired in the area to handle the automobiles ofresi-- dents and/or the cars of commercial use customers.
