W(' have reviewed the proposed abandonment of the Easterly 10' of Laburnam Avenue, located north of 10th Avenues which has been requested by Church of Christ—a We have no objections to this abandonment., Our review of the owners improvement plans indicates that a joint utility pole located on the corner of Laburnam Avenue and 10th Avenue will have to be relocated prior to the construction of the handicap ramp. It appears that the pole is located in the City's right-of-way. We have, therefore, requested that the property owner be notified by the City that arrangements for having the pole relocated must ")e completed before beginning the Construction of their off-site improvements. If the pole is located within the County' s right-of-way we would make the same request of the County. Bill.: r,fter receiving your letter recommending against abandoning 10 feet, of the existing 80 ft. right of way for E. 10th Avenue I have taken another look at this particular case. I would ask you to reconsider the abandonment of the 10 feet along the frontage of the project site for the following reasons and thoughts: 1. The City of Chico staff will recommend the abandonment of 10 ft. of the Laburnum Ave. right of way adjoining the project site. A copy of City letter is enclosed. 2. The existing right of way for East 10th is an 80 ft. wide section. T can think of no reason for this right of way to ever need more than 60 ft: 3. East 10th Avenue is not a through street in either direction.. It dead ends to the east at E: Lindo Avenue and to the west at Magnolia Avenue: 4., I cannot see how it would ever even be a bike path since it does not go anywhere in either direction.
