IT.x . DISCUSSION OF ENVIRONMENTAL EVALUA'T'ION
The 2 acre 'parcel is zoned /A_R for row
or orchard crops. If developed; for xesident a,l tiise
there Will be a loss of two acnes or 4grieVatural
land. This use will not; signit`icantly alter the
land ume of the area.
The Field is at pregent oVergtotgn with
brush aria provides habitat for", small mammals,
insect eating birds and Small reptiles. Any
deterioration to the habitat Will drive the
animals into the surrounding Rields
11-6 A'. The Swthern pacjf:,,c railroad :Line lies
within 1/3 mite of the projr•ct site to the South-
West. The projed, site is expoeed to severe noise
from passing -Drains. However there ;is sufficient
p t between the parcel and the tracks to
lead one to believe that the noise will not be
significant and can be sufficiently mitigated.
11-8. The Butte County General Plan shays this area
as Agri c;uitural-Orc7a.ard and. Fa al.d Crops. 1'1.0 2 acre
parcel may not be large enough `to be comraorcially
viable in agriouitural use by an ind;Lyid.ual. Rowover ,
the division of this parcel. into two parcols o: ' one
acre appears to co;dflict with the intent OP the
General Plan desig,aation.
