With reference to the above subject and your request for inspection of the proposed Residential
Care Facility located at 4810 Songbird. Chico, Ca., the inspection was made on April 9, 2002.
A reasonable visual inspection was performed without going on the roof, under the building, or
in the attic and the following items were identified, and must be completed or resolved:
1. Provide two exits per U.B.C. requirements for a R2. 1.1 occupancy. It appears that your
proposed exit plan and ramp meet the requirements.
2. Provide copy of the Butte County Fire Marshall's final report, form DD -850.
3. Provide smoke detectors per U.B.C.
4. Comply with any items identified during plan check.
This inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal
soundness of said addition, conversion, etc.
It is now in order for you to submit three copies of complete plans with calculations to this office
including plot plans, floor plans and structural details, apply for the required permits, and pay the
appropriate fees.
The permits must be obtained p[Lor to any work being done, and the above listed items completed
wi.thin thirty (30) days of the date of this letter.

Court Care Home, an existing facility at 1911 Roseleaf Court, Chico. The said facility is licensed
as a 6 -bed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) by the Department of Social Services.
For your reference, the building occupancy classification for this facility is R-2. 1. 1.
Mr. Steve Fowler, Butte County Fire Marshall, has been at the location for preliminary
inspections. Mr. Fowler directed us to your office to determine the appropriate egress site for our
purpose. The plans submitted show the proposed location of ramps for the purpose of egress. A
special inspection has been requested from your office on March 26, 2002. 1 hope that this

At the request of Mr. Jim Haase, I have made a topographical
survey of Rock Creek in the vicinity of the Quail Run Subdivision
located off Keefer Road, north of Chico.
Based on the survey, it is my opinion that, if the finish floor
is two feet above the original ground, it will not be subject to
the 100 year Rock Creek flood plain.
