.We -have completed an Expansion Index (EI) Test per the 1994 Uniform Building
Code( C) Standard 18-2 on the underslab soil obtained from the building pad
of Lot #24 at Pheasant Landing Subdivision in Chico, GA. The soils used in
constrikArg the pads are very uniform in soil type. It is our judgement that the
sample obtained for testing is representative of the worst case for expansive soils
on this Lot.
The soil described above was sampled for expansion index testing. The test result
was an EI = 8. The UBC classifies this soil as having a "Very Low" potential for
expansion. The Butte County Building Department requires no recommendations
for mitigating the effects of soil expansion if the EI is less than 20.
Applied Testing Consultants does not represent that these test results and/or
recommendations are suitable whether or not modified, for any other site or
structure on this site than the one for which they were specifically prepared.
Applied Testing Consultants disclaims responsibility for these test results and/or
