Rage Ave. Oxnard, CA 93033 Subject: Ground Trac mounting system engineered for attachment of BP Modules with frame We measurements of 31.1"x 62.7. TEST SETUP FOR GROUND MOUNT SYSTEM: Four SP Solar modules reasuring approximately 31 SN 62' long were bolted to 2.5' x 1.5'x 13(" Roof Trac support rails using a combination of 10 Ea. X116' stainless steel bolts, lock washers and specially extruded inserts. The mounting channel was attached to a pair of 1-1/7 schedule #40 pipes by specially extruded insert @I ustrated on attached page) and 1/2''U' bolts. The spacing of the support pipes was Ton center and was supported by 4 each 17 short pipe supports resting on a concrete floor. Test Praedure: The tog set up was then loaded using sandbags that produced an equivalent 501#sq.R of bad. Upon completion of the placement of the sandbags the maximum defection that occurred In the download condition was 3/4'. The sandbags were left for 30 minutes with no change in the deflection or any other sign of distress. After the 30 minutes was completed the fixture was inverted to simulate the upload condition. The results of the tests were duplicated in the uplift condition. The deflection in the uplift condition was V47 maximum and the fudure suffered no signs of distress due to the loading. Upon removal of the sand bags, the support rack returned to the preloaded condition without any signs of stress. This document certifies the Ground Trac PV mount and pipe support, used with the BP -modules wed above in a ground installation withstands a 50 Ib. per square foot static pressure bad Incorporating the 1-1IT pipe supper structure at 10' max centers with the illustrated footings. This loading is equivalent to a wind speed of approximately 100 mph (down rated from 125mph) using wind load exposure and gust icor coefficient'exposure C° as defined in the 2006(IBC)12007(CBC). Overall the mounting unit performed as expected. Sincerely Ali Basma, RCE The Ground Trawl pipe support structure consists of 1-112' schedule #40 galvanized water pipe metaled using Holleander corporation structural TEE finings. Ag pipe spans n:fen in this engineering report are absolute limits. They consist of a maximum of 5'4' for the rear vertical legs from grade (or footing), 34' for the front vertical support legs, and 10'-0' (Non -snow load) / 6'4' (Snow load up to 50lbs. per sq. ft) for the horizontal support pipe. The absolute cantilever for each side of the horizontal pipe is 24'. Solar arrays should be limited to a maximum of 50' long to allow for thermal expansion of the pipe. Pipe must be cut square and completely inserted Into the fitting. The Holleander fitting setscrew must be torqued to factory specifications of 17 foot-pounds, which they have tested to meet a minimum of 1,640 pounds of retention. Footings per attached plan require a minimum size of 12' diameter x 47 and must be installed in solid soil at grade requiring a minimum of 2.7 cubic foot of concrete with no loose earth badctS. Installations over loose unstable soil or sand require that footings be excavated into firm soil. This rack with maximum stated pipe support spans is engineered for wind loading over level grade. This mounting system is not rated for snow loading as illustrated. Tdtek engineering does not field check installations to verify that compliance as described in this engineering report To assist the building inspector in identification of this mounting system a permanent adhesion label describing either "Roof Trac' /'Ground Trac' is to be place on at least one of the main support rails. SNOWLOAD NOTE: As noted above, this mounting system is not rated for snow4oad at 10' maximum pipe spans. Howe is rated for snow load at up to 50 lbs. per 112 at 6' pipe spans. 01, P730 Control No. BP GT.P BUTTE COUNTY BUILDING DIVISIO APPROVED PPROVED Note: This engineering is not intended for use in obtaining a permit for systems otter than the above configuration. In addition, inspect all sprinklers after installation to ensure that both the gap between the cover plate and ceiling and the (4) slots in the cup are open and free of any air flow impediment. After a 2 % inch diameter hole is cut in the ceiling, the sprinkler is to be installed with the Model FC Wrench. When installing a sprinkler, the wrench is first positioned into the sprinkler/cup assembly and around the hexagonal body of the sprinkler frame. The Wrench must bottom out against the cup in order to ensure proper, safe installation. The sprinkler is then tightened into the pipe fitting. When inserting or removing the wrench from the sprinkler/cup assembly, care should be taken to prevent damage to the sprinkler. DO NOT WRENCH ON ANY OTHER PART OF THE SPRINKLER/CUP ASSEMBLY. MODEL RFC43 CONCEALED SPRINKLERS MUST BE INSTALLED ONLY WITH 135°F RATED COVERS. Model FC Wrench • Care must be taken to prevent grasping the deflector or pulling it downwards. Wrench should be fully inserted into sprinkler/cup assembly so that it fits over the entire hexagonal body of the frame, bottoming the wrench onto the cup. • When inserting or removing a wrench from a sprinkler/cup assembly, care should be taken to prevent damaging the operating parts of deflector. The sprinkler should only be tightened while the wrench is bottomed out in the cup, engaging the full length of the hexagonal body. _..__ Maximum ._ ....._..._..._...... _ Minimum Required Sprinkler Discharge .._._._..------------ --- - Minimum Distance Distance to - -- between Sprinkler Wall (ft.) Be aware at all times of good safety practices. Solvent cements for pipe arid fittings are flammable, so there should be no smoking Ilett- ol.l let- sources of heat or flame in,worldng or storage areas.
