Although building permits have been required in the unincorporated areas of Butte County since
February of 1962, the Butte County Building Division does not require or perform an inspection
as a result of a sale or refinance. In many circumstances construction work may have been
completed without permits and inspections, and it may be difficult or impossible to determine
whether or not this is the case. This precludes the Building Division from making any guarantee
or warranty as to the condition or general compliance of the structure in question. If available,
local tax appraisal and Building Division records may both be utilized for further parcel record
information.
Although the Building Division does not possess a record of building permit activity for the
above mentioned parcel, it may be possible to check tax appraisal records to determine the time
period during which construction was done, and what type of work if any, was completed.
Sincerely,
Scott Rutherford
Chief Building Inspector
