All timber operations shall be complete within one year from the date of acceptance by the Director. C. All conversion activities shall be complete within two years from the date of acceptance by the Director unless under permit by local jurisdiction. Failure to complete the conversion requires compliance with stocking standards and stocking report requirements of the Act and board regulations. D. The timber operator shall remove or dispose of all slash or woody debris in accordance with CCR 11 o4.1 (a) (2) (D). The timberland owner may assume responsibility for the slash treatment provided the landowner acknowledges in writing to the Director such responsibility at the time of submission of thls notice. The specific requirements shall be included with the acknowledgement. E. Timber operations shall not be conducted during the winter period unless a winter operation plan or in lieu practices required by Forest Practice regulations are specified within (attached to) this Notice. F. No timber operations are allowed within a Watercourse and Lake Protection Zone unless specifically approved by local permit (e.g. county, city). G. No timber operations shall be conducted until the Director's notice of acceptance is received and a valid copy of this Notice and the Director's acceptance shall be kept on site during timber operations. H. Director's acceptance shall be kept on site during timber operations I. No sites of rare, threatened or endangered plants or animals or sp. of special concern shall be disturbed, threatened or damaged J. No timber operations are allowed on significant historical or archeological sites. K. Under Section 4527 of the California Forest Practices Act, the conversion of timberland to another use, including residential and commercial uses, constitutes a commercial timber operation and requires that a Timber Harvest Plan or Exemption be filed with and approved by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The Act under Section 4526 defines "timberland" as land that is capable of producing a crop of trees of any commercial species and does not consider the size of the parcel or that the predominate use of the area is non -timber related. This action is entirely to comply with the Forest Practice Rules and in no way affects local zoning regulations and has no bearing on the regulations of any other agency or jurisdiction. The Butte County Department of Development Services, Planning Division, is the local land use planning agency having jurisdiction over this area. For information please contact Daniel C. Sec 36, T24N, ME, MDB&M The parcel is to the west and south of Lovelock in Butte County. The parcel is entirely within an NTMP except for 16 acres that has traditionally been used as a pasture. This conversion is to remove four small islands of trees within the pasture. I believe that the entire area was surveyed for the NTMP but do not have a copy of the Arch. Addendum. Please advise me if there are any known Native American.archeological, cultural, and/or historic sites on or near this area. If there are sites or other concerns, please advise me what measures should be taken to protect them. I will, as always, be more than willing to meet with representatives on the ground to address concerns. I am enclosing a copy of the conversion map and a map showing the portion of the Stirling City 7 '/2 min quadrangle in which the project is located.
