In roqards to the above referenced subdivision Appendix F checklist
form dated 03/31/86 we offer the following;
We are quite pleased with the report in general and also for the
mosL part agree with it.
Undo r suggested Mitigation Measures Item #2 we totally concur.
I-lowover, we do not agree with item #1.
There really is no way we can see to redesign the parcels to
protect deer habitat area. We are under the definite opinion
that this is not a "deer habitat area" or "critical winter
door range". one does not need be a Fish and Game biologist
to see that this area has very little to offer for "critical
winter deer range".
We intentionally lift Parcel number one as a 40 acre parcel to
act as a "buffer" zone between anv possible wildlife and human
dwellings.
Wo also offor thr, following:
The area is Zone FR 1-j (10 acre minimums) We aqr0a to abidc
by this We also agree to limit all buildings within 300 feet
of the existin_q 22Rnty road (Deadwood Road) from parcels 6
through 9.
We agree to limit buildings within 300 feet of the ditch on
parcels 2 through 5.
The entire aria to the North of this property is TMZ 160.
They are laige parcels and we agree they are "critical winter
deer range". 8owoveri as per the present General Plan and
Zoning those parcels cannot be 6ivided,

DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME
REGION 2
1701 NIMBUS ROAD, SUITE A
RANCHO CORDOVA, CALIFORNIA 95670
Marnh 25, 1986
Mo. Bettye Kircher
Butte County Planning Department
7 County Center Drive
Oroville) CA 95965
Dear Ms. Kircher:
The Department OF Fish and Game has reviewed the Ted Runge Tentative Sub-
division MTP (TSM), a proposal to divide 1200 acres into eight 10t acre parcels
and one 40- acre parcel. The TSM site is located adjacent to Deadwood Road,
approximately OtL
'a Mile
. west OF Jarbo Cap.
The above prope-', j within designated critical winter ranco :or the Bucks
Mountain doer h Residential encroachment through creation of parcels or
lose than 40 acres adversely affects Migratory deer. The Department concurs with
the 1954 But -be County Deer fIerd Study Panel's report which recommends retention
or 40 -acre minimum parcels in critical winter range unless the lands are adjacent
to identified "transportation corridors". Since the subject property proposes
parcels of less than 40 acres and not located along an identified transportation
corridor, the Department recommends the TV be denied because of its significant
adverse impact on Migratory doer.
if we can be of further assisLahce, please contact Jerry Mensch, Environmental
Services Supervisor, telephone (916) 355-7030.
Sincerely,
Paul 1'. Jansen
Regional Manager
