The building was constructed as an agricultural building, and therefore exempted from the standard permits and inspections -from this office. It was later partially converted to a single family dwelling without permits, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection, without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic and found the building appears to conform to the intent of code requirements, except for the following which must be completed or resolved: 1) Provide verification that the entire building is structurally adequate including footings and piers, floors, interior and exterior walls, and roof. 2) The type A flue installation on the second floor is unsafe. If a wood stove is to be used, provide a properly installed type A flue and leave open for visual inspection during construction. 3) The electric service conductors to the building are overhead triplex wire fastened to trees and poles from what was probably an agricultural well. Remove the triplex and provide underground feeders to the building. Provide verification that the entire electrical system is properly installed including bonding and grounding at service and receptacles, bonding of interior metal piping, G.F.C.I. protection in bathroom and at exterior receptacles, and wire and breaker size. 1 4) There is 'a cut slope on the North side of the building which exceeds the 3 horizontal to 1 vertical slope allowed in the 1991 Uniform Building Code. Cut the slope to conform to section 2907 (d). Inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said proposed single family dwelling. It is now in order for you to submit complete plans in triplicate to this office including plot plans, foundation plans, floor plans and structural details, apply for the required permits, and pay the appropriate fees. The permits must be obtained rior to any work being done, and the above listed items completed within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter.
