EXPIRATION OF APPLICATION
Applications for which a permit has not been issued will expire one year after date of application. In order to renew action
on an application after expiration, a new application, plans and fees will be required.
REQUEST FOR FEE REFUNDS
Refunds can only be made upon written request by the person who paid the fee. The request must be made within two
years from the date of fee payment on permits not issued, and two years from the date of permit issuance for permits
issued; however, on issued permits refunds can only be made if no construction work has been done. Filing fees, plan
check fees for work plan checked and other department costs are not refundable.

Dear Property Owner:
An application for a building permit has been submitted in your name listing yourself as the builder of the property
improvements specified.
For your protection you should be aware that as "owner -builder" you are the responsible party of record on such a
permit. Building permits are not required to be signed by property owners unless they are personally performing their own
work. If your work is being performed by someone other than yourself, you may protect yourself from possible liability if
that person applies for the proper permit in his or her name.
Contractors are required by law to be licensed and bonded by the State of California and to have a business license
from the city or county. They are also required by law to put their license number on all permits for which they apply.
If you plan to do your own work, with the exception of various trades that your plan to subcontract, you should be
aware of the following information for your benefit and protection:
o If you employ or otherwise engage any persons other than your immediate family, and the work (including materials
and other costs) is $500 or more for the entire project and such persons are not licensed as contractors or
subcontractors, then you may be an employer.
o If you are an employer, you must register with the state and federal government as an employer and you are subject
to several obligations including state and federal income tax withholding, federal social security taxes, workers''
compensation insurance, disability insurance costs, and unemployment compensation contributions.
o There may be financial risks for you if you do not carry out these obligations, and these risks are especially serious
with respect to workers' compensation insurance.

�l �A Deed Restriction and Limited Use Facility mu�recorded to limit the use of the sunroom
area. The deed restriction will state that the sunroom area will not be used for living space and not
be heated and cooled. This deed restriction will be prepared by Butte County and must be signed,
notarized and recorded by the property owner. Please provide a copy of the vesting grant deed
r the property so that we may prepare the deed restriction.
Specify on plans the roof framing for the covered porches and the sunroom. Specify the size and
spacing for the rafters and any ceiling joist. Call out post sizes, header sizes, and approved'post
./bases and caps.
The plans aren't showing any supports for the rear porch with a 5"-0" overhang. Show roof
.,supports or provide detail for the cantilever roof overhang being attached to roof trusses.
The proposed Dwelling is not showing any lateral bracing as required by Code. The structure
shall comply with 2001 C.B.C. Chapter 23, section 2320 for conventional light frame
construction. Braced walls shall have a maximum spacing of 34'-0"with no more than a 4"-0"
offset. Braced wall panels shall start at not more than 8'-0" from each end of a braced wall line.
Either revised the design to comply with C.B.0 chapter 23, conventional light framed
onstruction, or provide a lateral design by a license engineer or architect.
Provide a braced wall schedule and /or shear wall schedule on the plans and show the locations of
e panels on the floor plan.
The sunroom will need to have a continuous footing around the perimeter and shall comply with
chapter 23 of 2001 Calif. Building code for lateral bracing or be engineered. The layout for the
,sunroom should be showing any walls, posts, and sizes of openings.
0 Revise the footing detail to show that the steel is set at top and bottom as per the 2001 Calif.
Building Code, Chapter 18, section 1806.7.1 (minimum required by code is 1 - #4 rebar top and 1
- 44 rebar bottom).
