Department of Public Works Senior Citizens Sall - Stirling City (AP 59-091-5) October 23, 1978 With reference to the above subject and the inspection we made on October 4, 1978, of the proposed Senior Citizens Hall at 314 Skyway in Stirling City, and based upon our discussion wherein you advised the building is not required to be brought up to present code require- ments, the following is a list of items to be done to make the building safe, usable, and to prolong its useful life: The building must.bee jacked up such that the floors can be leveled and to provide adequate underfloor clearance and ventilation. Provide adequate pier and girder system to support the floor structural system.' A perimeter concrete foundation would be desirable. @{� Replace all dry rotted and/or deteriorated materials throughout the building. The building must be made weathert`�.te including new siding, new roofing, and replacnt of exterior windows tore badly damaged to repair. eme fflC The celotex ceiling and wallboards must be replaced with approved materials properly installed. The electrical system must be replaced per code requirements including a new ' electric service, grounding of all receptacles, and proper circuitry for 6. proposed loads. The plumbing system must be replaced per code requirements including the venting of all fixtures, proper connections to the building drain, proper installations and materials, together with anew sewage disposal system per Health Department k requirements. The kitchen must be remodeled to conform to the State Restaurant Act and Health Department requirements. All stovers must be provided with hoods'and mechanical systems per the Uniform Mechanical Code. The existing gas heating system must conform to code requirements including the proper venting of the suspended space heater and a gas test on the gas lines. The storage room behind the atage must be demoliahed. 00 The roof structural system may require bracing and ties to meet minimum structural } requirements. The building must be made accessible to and usable by the physically handicapped. Two (2) exit: doors to the exterior of the building or into an exit corrieor are required for the assembly area. The doors must be at least 30 ft. arart.
