Pursuant to Butte County Code (BCC) Section 41-2, we sent you a courtesy notice dated October 13, 1993 notifying you that you are in violation of the BCC at the above -referenced location. The residence was constructed by a previous owner without permits and inspec- tions from this office and the Health Department, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection, without going_ on..the...roof, under the building, or in the attic, and found the residence appears to conform to the intent of housing code requirements, except for the following items which must be done or resolved: (1) Eliminate exposed open splice on exterior end of building where the line from the generator connects to the building wiring system. (2) Install a smoke detector on ceiling above stairway access to bed- room. (3) Eliminate the temporary gas piping system and hot plate and replace with approved piping and appliances properly installed. (4) Provide a minimum 16" hearth in front of wood stove and provide 18" clearance to combustibles for stove pipe.. (S) Provide proper landings and/or stairs to all three exterior doors (see attached code sections for rise, run, handrails, etc.). (6) Provide a disposal system per Health Department requirements. (7) Install. a bathroom including a lavatory, sink, bath or shower. (8) Vent and trap kitchen sink and connect to sewage disposal system. (9) Install a water heater.
