I intended to make necessary corrections to bring the structure to code as a cabin for living quarters. Following permit payment, engineering and plan approval; I met onsite with Inspector Gary Aznoe for an initial assessment of the existing building. It became clear that extensive rebuilding would be needed, requiring time and expense which may exceed the value of the structure. I reside in Biggs and the Berry Creek property has been plagued with burglaries in recent years. Pm, concerned that if not occupied, an improved building would still be vulnerable to vandalism and burglary with greater potential loss. At this point, it seems reasonable to use the structure for storage of timber improvement tools and supplies, as this is a registered tree farm. We could campout or use our travel trailer for living quarters during occasional visits; and sometime in the future, apply the time and resources to the construction of a conventional residence. If you approve of this proposal, I recognize the need to inform the Health Dept. of this change, for their records.
