Before approval of the discretionary permit, the property was identified as having a significant amount of oak trees. This County and others are required to mitigate for loss of oak woodland habitat, which is commonly done through a oak tree plan. The purpose of the plan is to protect existing oak trees and oak woodlands, and to replace those trees that have been removed. The County requires that the plans be prepared by a certified arborist, and to the standard indicated within the note.
