Gentlemen: ;
As owners of the pxoperty adjoi ing the proposed
site of ,the Pacific Telephone and,Telegraph equipment building; we wish to comment
on the granting of a use permit fo'r same,
While we do appreciate their need for a building in
the vioinity, we believe it should be aesthetically attractive and compatible with
the surrounding area
We have seen their new building in uohasset, and while
the building itself is attractive; the area arround it is not. The ground has
been made barren of all vegetation, a bright, shiny cyclone eance surrounos the
building, and the thole is illuminated by flood lights that can be seen From a
great distance at night: If the same is to be done with the building in our areal
we fool it would constitute ai-L ecunomic taking of value, and create an attractive
nuisance as well. In order to avoid this, we suggest that the following be required
of pT&T in the granting of this use permit. -'
1. The fence 'line to be planted with native Califurnia, fivo .nd drought resistant
vegetation; of a height and density to conceal the fence and enclosed ground
bort view;
2, That illumination bee tip, at a level +,hes will
inot
undulyiattra.ct pas sers -by ,
.• cinities thereof.
nor be va„ewed from g g +
As OWN is a rural, residential. area, ;tie feel very
strongly that the two items foregoing, must be included in the granting of this.
use permit, in order to prevent an,economic taking of value and the creation of an
attractive nuisance.
