INSTRUCTIONS to- CLAIMANTS
All claims against the county must be itemized, giving dates and
character of service rendered or work performe'd, quantities, de-
scription and unit prices of articles furnished or delivered.
Claims must be certified by the claimant and submitted to the De-
partment head for approval. Upon approval the Department head
will forward claim to County Auditor for payment procedure.. Do
not file with the County Auditor first.
Claims should be presented to officials for approval immediately
upon completion of services requested or material ordered.
Claims are paid every Tuesday; however, same must be approved by
officials and in Auditor's office before preceeding Wednesday noon.
Compliance with above will expedite payment of claim, failure to do
so may delay payment considerably.

Re: Building Permit 2148-78 CAP 63-01-89)
In June of 1978 we applied for and received the abo.,ve
numbered building permit. By September of 1978 we realized
we would be unable to use the permit; however, we did not
know that we could apply for a refund. Early in June of
1979 an acquaintance told us that we might be eligible for
a refund. I called the Public Works Department, but was
told that as the permit had expired five days earlier a
refund could not be granted.
I then wrote to the Public Worrks_-Department, and received
confirmation of this information. I was told that I could
ask the Board of Supervisors to consider my request for a
refund. I understand that if the Board authorized such a
refund, normal procedure entails retaining one-third of the
original fee plus filing fees on plumbing, electrical, and
mechanical permits.
I would appreciate your consideration of my request,
and would be grateful for even a partial refund.

With reference to the above subject and your letter dated June 12, 1979, concerning
this permit, we are unable to authorize any refund of permits fees paid after the
building permit has expired.
We are sorry you were not aware that a refund could be made prior to the.one year
permit expiration if the permits were not used; however, we cannot be held responsible
for not advising you of refund policies -'and procedures if the information is not
requested.
You may write a letter to the Board of Supervisors requesting a refund and send it
to this office for placement on their agenda as they are .the only way a refund could
now be obtained. ... .,:
If the Board of Supervisors authorizes a refund, they would normally retain 1/3 of
the original building permit fee plus the filing fees on the plumbing, electrical,
and mechanical permits.

Dear Sir;
In June of 19.78 we received a building permit C#2148-78,
receipt #174735).. By- SeptemSer, we -realized we 'were unable
to build as- planned, but as. we had not been told by anyone
in your department that a partial refund of fees might be
pos-s-ible, we did not contact you.
Earlier this week, an aquaintance indicated that such
a refund was a possibility, and I contacted your office, only
to be told that it would Rave beeri possible, BEFORE our permit
expired Con June 2, 19*791 , but was not possible 'now?
If we had been told this at the time we obtained the per-
mit we would have contacted you about it months earlier.'
It seems to me that your office must have realized we were
not building, as we did not contact you to arrange for
building inspectors, etc., and therefore I feel you have
a certain responsibility for this unsatisfactory situation.
I would appreciate it if you could look into the matter
and determine whether or not we have any recourse -at this
time. Thank you for your help.
