Morningstar Dev,e-lopment Corporation, Star Route, Steiffer Road, Magalia is the company working the project. Pat Robuck is the man in charge. They have five or six men clearing the dirt away at the' bottom of the Steiffer- Shaft. They are about 360 ft. down.. Water is right below them. When the dirt is cleared away they will put in pumps and pump water up to Pat Robuck's mobile home which is about a mile north of the Steiffer Shaft. They z,l so' intend to. se -11 water' to PID by pumping it into the storm drain on Imperial'Drive end letting. it drain down into- the lower Magalia. Reservoir. They -have a large crane. -at the Steiffer Shaft which is shown in the pictures. North of the'Steiffer Shaft about a mile and above the Steiffer Road, Mr. Robu.ck has his mobile home and has built a large metal building which is his workshop. I understand that he did not take out building permits for the buildingi, Down from the. building and about 250 or 300 ft. above the. upper Magalia Reservoir he is. starting to drill a shaft into the hill. The picture shows the size of the portal which.is about 10 ft. square. This project will need a use permit as they gill be doing blasting. There is also a chance of possible pollution of the reservoir. This shaft is suppos.ed to hit another under: - ground stream, not the one that supplies the Steiffer Shaft. They will furnish water to the upper Magalia Reservoir if the water supply is as good as they expect. They have several pieces of equipment at this site, a skip loader -and large compressor.
