Foundation design is based upon an assumed soil bearing capacity of 1500 PSF per Butte County Building Department. All excavations shall be inspected and approved by the Building Official before concrete is pour'ed . Foundation design is based upon an assumed soil bearing capacity of 1500 PSF per Butte County Building Department. All excavations shall be inspected and approved by the Building Official before concrete is pour'ed . Footings shall extend to firm, undisturbed native soil one foot minimum below existing grade, or as directed by Engineer, whichever is lowest. s lowest. Engineered fill may be used as existing grade provided tests are presented to the Engineer of a,90% relative compaction per ASTM 1551. The bottom of all footings shall be level. The Contractor shall be responsible for determining the exact location of all anchor bolts, holdown anchors or straps, and embedments, prior to placement of concrete and Anchor bolts to be 1/2" diameter X 10" long with 1" embedment Into concrete spaced at 6'-0" o.c. maximum unless otherwise noted on plans, shearwall schedule, or details. Bolts shall be located within 12" of each end of 2x sill plate with a minimum of two anchor bolts per sill plate. Ali holddown anchor bolts, column base plate, etc. shall be wired and tied in place proir to placement of concrete. The concrete contractor and framing contractor shall coordinate the placement of all hoidown anchors, column base plates, etc. prior to foundation inspection. and placement of concrete. CONCRETE: All concrete shall hags a cement factor of 5 sacks per cubic yard, a maxtimum slump of 4" and a minimum Fc -2;500 PSI after 28 days curing unless otherwise noted. Vibrate concrete around all bolts, rebars and surfaces. Construction joints shall be clean and wet prior to pouring concrete. STEEL: Reinforcing steel shall conform to the provisions of ASTM A-615 Grade 60 for 15 bars and larger. All rebar to be deformed and all splices shall not be less than 30 bar diameters of the larger bar . Horizontal laps in adjacent bars shall be staggered 51-01' minimum. Bolts and nuts shall conform to the provisions of ASTM A301, Grade A. Steel studs shall conform to the provisions of ASTM a 568. Structural steel shall conform to the provisions of ASTM A-36 All field welding shall be single pass filet welds as shown on the plans. Welded connections are desingned for 50 percent of all allowable stresses, so no specs, inspector is required. However, the Inspector shall check qualifications of welder at the start of work and then make the final inspection of all welds for compliant prior to completion of Welding.
