COUNTY P 1 MANUFACTURED ROME INSTALLATION OF B -UNIT TO C -UNIT A parallel tag is indicated by a rectangular ridge beam at the mating line; and a dormer tag is indicated by a triangular beam at the mating line. Choose the instructions that match -the tag to be installed. I. PARALLEL TAG INSTALLATION 1. The site is to be. prepared and the units inter- 5. connected and supported per the special in- structions for Double -Wide Set -Up and Inter- connection outlined in the Manufactured Home Installation Manual. After the A -unit and the 6 B -unit have been blocked and leveled, the C -unit is to be connected to the B -unit in a like manner (C -unit pier loads should be taken from the 20' 7 wide columns). When required for roof loads in excess of 20 psf, the A, B, and C -units should be perimeter blocked per the Manufactured Home Perimeter Blocking Supplement. 2. Fold back the underlayment and roll roofing 8 material in the area of the detachable sheathing. (Used for bolting beam halves together.) 3. Remove the 13 -inch wide pieces of plywood sheathing, which were temporarily secured and 9. are located adjacent to each tag beam half. (NOTE: A 32 -inch piece of plywood centered at 10 the valley ridge on the main unit has been per- manently fastened to the roof. See Fig. 4.) 4. Bolt the ridge beam together as outlined in the Double -Wide Set -Up Procedure in the Manu- factured Home Installation Manual. For models with heat ducts in the roof cavity, make the inter- connection of two units by running the provided 11. flexible duct through the access hole in the ridge beam. After the mechanical connection is made, tape the joint with 2 -inch wide duct tape. A`- UNIT B - UNIT Reinstall the detached plywood sheathing using 16 gauge by 7116" by 1-112" staples or 8d twist nails 3 inches on center at butt joints and 3 fasteners at each rafter between joints. Fasten roof underlayment back in place with 16 guage by 1" by 1" staples or roofing nails 4'-0" (maximum) around the perimeter. Center the additional 36 -inch wide roofing un- derlayment on tag beam- and staple it in place. (See Fig. 3.) NOTE: The additional underlay- ment is not required beneath the roll roofing cap on the main unit half. (See Fig. 5.) Tack the roll roofing in place using roofing nails or 16 gauge by 1 " by 1 " staples 12" o.c. The fasteners should be located as specified on Figure 5. Fasten drip cap to plywood sheathing above the underlayment at the roof's edge. (See Fig. 3.) Per the Manufactured Home Installation Man- ual, complete installation of shingles maintain- ing the 6 -inch clearance above the valley center- line. NOTE: The area of roll roofing material overlapped by the first (lowest) course of shingles should be sealed 100% with asphalt cement. (See Fig. 4 Section AA.) After completing the interconnections of the units, install the closure courses of siding at the front and rear walls of the C -unit. Install the provided inside corners as indicated in Figure 2. Lay back in place bottom layer of valley flashing. Nail in place with 16 gauge x 3l4" x 1" staples or 12 gauge x 1-114" large head galvanized roofing nails at 12" on center. Apply 3" band of asphalt cement along edge and overlay top layer of valley flashing; nail in place (See Fig. 8). 12..Apply shingles from eave up to ridge. The first seven courses and the starter course are to be cut to form the 8" valley. (See Fig. 9). Apply a 5" band of asphalt cement between the shingles and valley flashing. The shingles are to be fastened as described in the Manufactured Home. Installation Manual. 13. Cut shingles for ridge cap and install as per Manufactured Home Installation Manual. 14. DORMER TAGS After the A -unit and B -unit have been blocked and leveled, the C -unit is to be connected to the B -unit. The recommended procedure is as follows: 1. Fold back underlayment and valley flashing and 6 align C -unit as close as possible to the B -unit. It may be necessary to winch the units together with come-alongs or similar equipment. Alumi- num sheets or greased board under the tires of the C -unit will aid in sliding units together. 2. Bring the B -unit and C -unit sidewall beams to- 7 gether. Jacking the "I" -beams of the C -unit may be necessary. 3. Align ceiling material joints and level ceiling edges by jacking the C -unit inside "I" -beam until ceiling joint is flush. 4. Bolt the two beams together at each end of span with two 318" x 4-112" bolts. Access to the 8 beams is provided by two removable panels in the roof sheathing of each unit. 5. Line up C -unit endwall studs with B -unit side- A -UNIT B -UNIT 6 wall studs by moving C -unit floor either forward or backward as necessary. Nail the walls to- gether using 20d nails at 12 inches on center. Level the floor by jacking on the inside "I" - beam of the C -unit. Place the provided threaded tierods through the "I" -beam centers and bolt firmly together, or lag screw the header joists together with 3/8'' x 2-1/2'' lag screws 8'-0" o.c. (See Manufactured Home Installation Manual.) Level the C -unit and install the required piers. following the procedure outlined for single wide homes in the Manufactured Home Installation Manual.
