Alternatively, use a tackifierto adhere straw fibers. A tackifler is typically applied at a rate of 125 Iblacre. In windy conditions, the rates are typically 180 lb/acre. HYDROSEEDING: • Use hydroseeding in conjunction with stravvmulch. State application ratelseed mixture on plans Supplemental irrigation may be required during dry penods • Hydroseeding mixtures shall conform to the Federal Seed Act, the Federal Noxious Weed Act, and applicable state and local seed and noxious weed laws Avoid use of hydroseeding in areas where it would be incompatible with future earthwork activities and would have to be removed, • Hydroseeding can be applied prior to straw mulch or in a mixture of fiber, seed, etc Application prior to straw mulch ensures maximum direct contact of the seeds to the soil. If seed is applied in a mixture, increase the seed rate to compensate for all seeds not having direct contact with the soil. • Prior to application, roughen the area to be seeded with the furrows trending along the contours. • Each seed bag shall be delivered to the site sealed and clearly marked as to species, purity, percent germination, dealer's guarantee, and dates of test The container Mall be labeled to clearly reflect the amount of Pure Live Seed (PLS) contained. All legume seed shall be pellet inoculated. Inoculant sources shall be species specific and shall be applied at a rate of 2 Ib of inoculant per 100 Ib seed • Commercial fertilizer shall conform to the requirements of the California Food and Agricultural Code. Fertilizer shall be pelleted or gran ularform • Follow up application shall be made as needed to coverweak spots and to maintain adequate soil protection • Avoid over spray onto roads, sidewalks, drainage channels, existing vegetation, etc. FIBER POLLS - 0 Use minimum 0 in, diameter rolls. • Locate fiber rolls on level contours spaced as follows: o Slope inclination of 4:1 (H:V) orflatter. Fiber rolls shall be placed at a maximum interval of 20 ft o Slope indination of between 4 1 and 21 (H V) Fiber rolls shall be placed at a r maximum interval of 15 ft o Slope inclination of 2:1 (H:V) or greater: Fiber rolls shall be placed at a maximum interval of 10 ft. • Tum the ends of the fiber roll up slope to prevent runoff from going around the roll • Stake fiber rolls into a 2 to 4 in deep trench with a width equal to the diameter of the fiber roll. Drive stakes at the end of each fiber, roll and spaced 4 ft maximum on center. Use wood stakes with a nominal classification of 0.75 by 0.75 in. and minimum length of 24 in • If more than one fiber roll is placed in a row, the rolls shall be abutted securely to one .1 another. to provide alight joint. , • '.Fiber rolls are typically left in place If fiber rolls are removed, collect and dispose of sediment accumulation and fill and compact holes, trenches, depressions or any other ground disturbance to blend Wth adjacent ground. • Refer to installation detail below y X - , ;..;. ,.;, knee" neer fall 'v along a level contour. Care shall be exercised to minimize the damage to protected areas while making repairs, as any area darnaged will require re-application of straw mulch and hydroseed. Repair of replace split, torn, unraveling, or stumping fiber rolls. • Reapplication of straw mulch and tackifler may be required to maintain effective soil stabilization over disturbecd areas and slopes. • Where seeds failto germinate, or they germinate and die, Me area must be re -seeded, fertilized, and mulchedl within the planting season, using not less than half the original application rates. • r1 gaticn systems, If applicable, shall be Inspected dally while In use to identify system malfunctions and line freaks When line breaks are detected, the system must be shutdown immediately and breaks repaired before the system is put back into operation. Irrigation system shall be inspected for complete coverage and adjusted as needed to maintain complete coverage. • Sediment shall be removed from fiber rolls, when sediment accumulation reaches one-half the designed sediment storage depth, usually one-half the distance between the top of the filer roll and the aclacent ground surface. Sedlment removed during malrtenance may be Incorporated Into earthwork on the site or disposed at an appropriate location. ADDITIONAL AGENCY REOUIREMENTS •' It one or more acres of ground Is dshirbed, a permit must be obtained from the State Water Resources Cortrcol Boars (SWRCB) prior to construction. Contact Scott Zara with SWRC6 at (530) 224 -4784 for more information. • If property is located above 300 ft. elevation and excavation exceeds 1,000 cubic yards or 10 feet of vertical depth In either excavation or fill, a grading permit may be required. Contact the Butte Courcy Land Developm eft Division at (530) 538-7266 for more Information. SLOPE i i II NEW AD ITI N . SCALE: 1 "=30' / .
