The plans for the construction of the above food facility have been reviewed for compliance with the California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law and are approved with the following corrections, understandings, and additions: 1. Provide separate storeroom with adequate amount of easily cleanable storage for food, beverages, paper goods, etc. It is understood that there will be a small storeroom upstairs. -Cabinets (if provided) shall be of easily cleanable, tight fitting construction with impervious tops. 2. All equipment shall be National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved or equivalent (display refrigerators/freezers may be CRMA approved) and suitable for its intended use. Most domestic equipment is not acceptable. 3. Soap and towel dispensers shall be of sanitary type. 4. Provide indirect sewage connection (floor sink) for two compartment sink, any beverage dispensers, ice machines/dispensers, or refrigerator/freezers (unless equipped with evaporators). You may use hub drains for an indirect connection except under the two compartment sink. 5. Water shall be from an approved source. The exiting well may not meet requirements for a commercial well. It is understood that you will be connecting to O.W.I.D. 6. Provide smooth, easily cleanable, non-absorbent, durable floor in storeroom. Do not use top set coving in restroom or utility room. 7. Provide smooth, washable, durable, non-absorbent, light colored walls and ceilings that are in good repair in utility room and restroom. Do not texture gypsum board walls in these areas. Lights in utility room shall have shatter proof covers. 9. Janitorial sink shall be of commercial quality which is mounted to wall or on round metal legs. 10. Provide hot and cold running water from a mixing faucet at all sinks. 11. Pipes and conduits shall. be enclosed wherever possible in restoom and utility room. Where such pipes and conduits are exposed, they shall be at least six (6) inches off the floor. 12. Provide separate lockers or cabinets. for storage of employees personal belongings. 13. Provide separate storage facilities (that are away from food or food containers) for cleaning supplies. 14. The building shall be rodent and insect proof. Screen all openable windows. Provide tight fitting, self-closing exterior doors. 15. There shall be no direct connection between any living quarters and any part of the market. Access to upstairs apartment shall be from outside. 16. Meet all other applicable requirements of C.U.R.F.F.L. It is understood that there will be no food preparation or dispensing of unpackaged foods. Submit application and fee for health "Permit To Operate" and obtain such permit prior to opening. Call for an inspection by this Department when most of the work is completed. Allow time between preliminary inspection and opening date to correct any violations found during preliminary inspection. A final or pre- opening inspection is normally required prior to opening. Keep a copy of this letter with the approved plans. _ If you have any questions please call this office 8-9:00 A.M. weekdays.
