located .on the south side of Olive Highway;
approximately 1/3 mile west of Oakvale Avenue, in the Oroville
area. Although their development plans are not certain, they
may construct a bingo parlor.
If the Rancheria acquires the land, local ordinances will be
pre-empted. If you have any concerns about development of
these 32 acres, notify the Superintendent, Bureau of Indian
Affairs, 1800 Tribute Road, Suite 111, Sacramento, CA 95815-
4314 prior to June 5, 1987.

This agency has under consideration an application for the acquisition of land
by the United States.to be held in trust for the benefit of:
The Tyme Maidu Tribe, Berry Creek Rancheria
The property is described as follows:
PARCEL 1: A portion of the NE .1/4 of the SE 1/4 and a portion of the SE 1/4
of the NE 1/4, all in Section 1S, T. 19 N., R. 4 E., M.D.B. & M., particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the South line of the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of said
Section 15, distant along said South line, Westerly, 450 feet from the SE
corner of the NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4; thence from said point of beginning along
the South line of the NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4, Westerly, 450.0 feet more or
less, to the SE corner of the parcel of land described in the deed from E.C.
Dickinson,_ et ux, to G.W. Wallace, dated March 14, 1924 and recorded March 15,
19241 in book 201 of Deeds, records of Butte County, at Page 400; thence,
along the East line of said Wallace parcel, N 1864 feet more or less, to the
Southwesterly line of that certain County Road known as the Olive Highway;
thence, along the Southwesterly line of said Olive Highway,- Southeasterly, to
a point which bears Northerly and parallel to the East line of said Section
15, from the point of beginning; thence Southerly and parallel with the East
line of said Section 1S, a distance of 1,715 feet, more or less; to the point
of beginning.
PARCEL 2: Beginning at a point on the South line of the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4
of said Section 15, a distance along said South line, Westerly 450.0 feet from
the SE corner of the NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4; thence from said point of
beginning, along the South line of the NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4, Easterly, 450.0
feet to the SE corner of the NE 1/4 of, said SE 1/4; thence along the East line
of said Section 15, Northerly 1276.17 feet more or less, to the 'Southwesterly
line of that certain County Road known as Olive Highway; thence along, the.
Southwesterly line of said Olive Highway, Northwesterly, to a point which
bears Northerly and parallel with the East line of said Section 15, from the
point of beginning; thence Southerly and parallel with the East line of said
Section 15, a distance of 1,715 feet more or less, to the point of beginning.
The determination whether to acquire this property in trust will be made in
the exercise of discretionary authority which is vested in the Secretary of
the Interior. To assist us in the exercise of that discretion, pursuant to
regulations published at 4S Fed. Reg. 62034 (September 18, 1980), 25 CFR.151,
we invite your comments on the proposed acquisition. In particular,
information on the following matters is requested:
1. The annual amount of property taxes currently levied on
the property.
2. Any special assessments, and amounts thereof, which are
currently assessed against the property.
3. Any governmental services which are currently provided to
the property by your jurisdiction.
4. If subject to zoning, how the property is currently zoned.
Information and comments should be addressed to this agency, to the attention
of the undersigned. Any comments received within 30 days of the date of this
letter will be considered. A copy of your comments will be made available to
the Tyme Maidu Tribe. A determination of whether to acquire the land in trust
will be made by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs, Washingtong
D. C. If 'you have submitted comments within 30 days of this letter you will be
notified of the Deputy Assistant Secretary's determination.
We would also appreciate being advised as to whether or not your records
reflect this tract is located within the confines of any city limits.,
A copy of this letter is being sent to- the Tyme Maidu Tribe, for their
information.
