Section 26-1 of the Butte County Code states that the County has adopted the 1979 Edition of the Uniform Building Code. Section 70.03 of the Uniform Building Code states that no person shall do any grading without first having obtained a grading permit from the County Building Department. - Section 1-7 of the Butte�County Code provides that any . violation'of any provision of the Code constitutes a misdemeanor, or in thetdiscretion of the District Attorney, be charged as an infraction. The penalty for a misdemeanor is punishment by a fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment. The punishment for an infraction shall be a fine not to exceed the sum of $500.00.
