The utility room was constructed without permits and inspections from this office, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection, without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic and found the structure appears to conform to the intent of code requirements, except for. the following which must be completed or resolved: 1. Provide Environmental Health Department approval. 2. Provide a conforming set of stairs and a landing at rear door, including rise and run. 3. There is evidence of dry rot near the underfloor access. Repair underfloor dry rot. 4. Provide a perimeter foundation under the utility room. Remove any direct concrete to wood contact. 5. The rear porch rafters and rafter tails are spliced at mid -span and are inadequately supported. Provide verification that the structural system is adequate including the foundation and anchorage, floor, wall, and roof systems. 6. Provide verification that the electrical system is properly installed including bonding and grounding, G.F.C.I. protection, spacing of receptacles, and wire and breaker size. 1 7. Provide a conforming water heater installation including seismic anchors, an accessible shut off valve, a properly installed PTRV valve and discharge line, and proper clearances from combustibles to the water heater vent. 8. Provide smoke detectors throughout per 1994 Uniform Building Code. 9. Comply with Public Resources Code 4290. 10. Comply with any items identified during plan check. Inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said utility room. It is now in order for you to submit complete plans in triplicate to this office including plot plans, foundation plans, floor plans and structural details, apply for the required permits, and pay the.' appropriate fees. The permits must be obtained prior to any work being done, and the above listed items completed within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter. The utility room was constructed without permits and inspections from this office, so we were not able to perform the required inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection, without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic and found the structure appears to conform to the intent of code requirements, except for the following which must be completed or resolved: 1. Provide Environmental Health Department approval. 2. Provide a conforming set of stairs and a landing at rear door, including rise and run. 3. There is evidence of dry rot near the underfloor access. Repair underfloor dry rot. 4. Provide a perimeter foundation under the utility room. Remove any direct concrete to wood contact. 5. The rear porch rafters and rafter tails are spliced at mid -span and are inadequately supported. Provide verification that the structural system is adequate including the foundation and anchorage, floor, wall, and roof systems. 6. Provide verification that the electrical system is properly installed including bonding and grounding, G.F.C.I. protection, spacing of receptacles, and wire and breaker size. 1 7. Provide a conforming water heater installation including seismic anchors, an accessible shut off valve, a properly installed PTRV valve and discharge line, and proper clearances from combustibles to the water heater vent. 8. Provide smoke detectors throughout per 1994 Uniform Building Code. 9. Comply with Public Resources Code 4290. 10. Comply with any items identified during plan check. Inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said utility room. It is now in order for you to submit complete plans in triplicate to this office including plot plans, foundation plans, floor plans and structural details, apply for the required permits, and pay the appropriate fees.
