(With noted modifications for two story builds) P �b CUTTING METHODS Hardipanel siding can be cut with a handsaw, a power -saw or a circular saw equipped with a,carbide blade or dry diamond blade. , The score and snap method is also a fast and efficient way to cut Hardipanel siding. Hardie's tungsten tipped knife is designed especially for the score and snap method, For infomladon on avoiding dust inhalation, refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet available wherever James Hardie fiber -cement products are sold_ Always wear safety glasses when using power tools. No cutting should be done with card chisels or heavy hammers. FRAMING REQUIREMENTS Hardipanel vertical siding may be installed over either wood or metal framing . complying with the local Building Code, including the use of weather barriers where required. Framing members must have a minimum 1W face and be straight, true, of unlform dimensions and properly aligned. The maximum variation in alignment shall be '/a° in 10 linear feet. Blocking must be installed between studs where Iirdipanel siding joints will fall. For wood framing, use nominal 2' x 4' lumber that has been selected to minimize shrinkage. Metal framing shall be a minimum 20 gauge 311d" C -studs. Space studs at 16' or 24' o,c. wills tops and bottoms securely attached to p!ales. Refer to Tables I and II for specific 2' MIN .
