This letter is to confirm our discussion on August 16, 1999 regarding
the development of the area in and around the Oro -Quincy Hwy and Kelly
Ridge Road in Kelly Ridge. The Butte County Sheriffs office is now under
construction and the plans for the Bait and Tackle Shop are now in the
plans checking process. Any additional building plans will not be approved
until a fire protection water system is approved by the Butte County Fire
Department for the entire complex.
It is my understanding that you will be contacting OWID for arranging
a connection to the 12 " water main on Oro -Quincy Highway. This water
main should be sufficient in size to supply the needed water for your
complete complex which is expected to include a gas station and mini
market, Hotel, strip mall and a boat and RV repair center. The "gated"
planned adult community complex between Kelly Ridge Road and Rachel
Drive could probably also be served by the line in addition to the existing 6
inch water main currently installed along Rachel Drive. The required fire
flow for a light commercial or industrial building would be 2000 gallons per
minute and a heavy commercial or industrial building would be 2500 gallons
per minute. These flows may be mitigated downward in the event that an
automatic fire sprinkler systems and 2 hour fire walls are installed.
The exact fire flow can only be determined when the plans and
layout for all the buildings in your complex are presented to the Butte
_.5.
