With reference to the above subject and your request for inspection of the
agricultural building located at 7562 Lumpkin Road for the purpose of conversion
to a feed store, the inspection was made on November 1, 1984.
The area is zoned FR -5, which according to the Planning Department, does not permit
a feed store to be located within the zone.
If you can resolve the zoning matter, a building permit would be required from this
office and the following items must be done or resolved!
(1) Provide a continuous concrete foundation around the perimeter of the
building.

(2) The floor structural system must be strengthened to carry a minimum of
125#/Ft.2 floor load and the cedar post supports must be replaced with a conventional
post and pier footing system.
(3) The Decorative Grade siding must be replaced with an approved exterior
siding material.
(4) The building must be made accessible to the physically handicapped by a
ramp with a maximum slope of 1:12.
(5) Provide stairs and landings at exterior door locations per code requirements.
(6) If the office and sales area is. to be heated, the area must comply with
the State Nonresidential energy requirements including R-19 attic insulation.
(7) The exposed facing of the R-19 wall insulation must be covered.
(8) All electrical wiring must conform to code requirements including the
protection of exposed wiring.
(9) Submit three complete sets of plans showing plot plan, floor plan and
structural details and pay the appropriate fees.

AGRICULTURAL BUILDING EXEMPTION PERMIT
Agricultural building is defined as follows: Agricultural building is a structure designed and constructed to
house farm implements, hay, grain, poultry, livestock, or other horticulutral products. This structure shall not
be a place of human habitation or a place of employment where agricultural products are processed, treated,
or packaged, nor shall it be a place used by the public.

Dear Mr. Williams:
With reference to the above subject and your letter dated November 15, 19846
I am sorry you feel the way you do about the feed store, but I have no
alternative but to require compliance with County zoning and building code
requirements.
The agricultural building fee of $25.00 was for the Agricultural Building '
Exemption Permit and you constructed the building so the fee is not
refundable.
As for the special inspection fee of $50.00,'my letter dated November 13,
1984, advised you that fee is not refundable.
