There is currently an older non -HUD mobile home (1972) located on this property. A previous owner took out the permits for this installation quite some time ago. However there is no documented evidence available in the files at the Butte County building department to indicate that the final inspection was ever performed, contrary to the previous owners claims. This property had an address assigned to it and has been occupied by several owners since this original installation many years ago. This home has been located on this parcel of land since long before the county ordnance requiring all manufactured homes to be HUD approved for permitting, however when I found out the county considered this a non -permitted home and I checked on permits for this , (1972) home I was told that I could not get permits and was told I would need to buy a newer home or build a house. So at a considerable expense and no small amount of labor I purchase a newer (1985) home that I was told I could obtain permits for. I am currently requesting permits for my newer 1985 singlewide and I am trying to comply with Butte County's building requirements for development. This will provide for the placement of two manufactured homes on my property. I am planning on living in the newer 1985 home and converting the older (1972) home into a storage building. I understand that to accomplish this conversion, another mobile home installation permit will be required for the 1972 home. It will have to be blocked, tied down, have steps and landings built and have the toilets and kitchen stove removed along with disconnecting any utilities and then be final inspected and signed off by the county inspector. I further understand that these modifications will satisfy current building codes and will make this a legal storage building. Therefore I am requesting that the county issue another mobile home installation permit for the 1972 home conversion to storage and that the construction and final inspection of the 1985 home installation be completed so that I may occupy that home. Then within a reasonable amount of time allow me to complete the conversion on the 1972 home and have it final inspected and approved by the county building inspector. These requirements are minimums and will be superseded by Butte County local regulations which equal or exceed these standards. Field inspections will be made by the Butte County. To ensure continued maintenance of properties in conformance with these standards and measures and to assure continued avail- ability, access and utilization of the defensible space provided for in these standards, annual maintenance must be provide for by the land owner. Driveway Standards f 1273.02 Surface.
