Brown, P.E. RECEIVED I! `! 17 1999 i3U'I" 1 COUNTY I'. DiNG DIVISION On June 11, 1999, 1 visited this site located at 56 Lyons Lane. An existing 24'x 54' pad had previously been constructed. The future mobilehome limits were laid out, showing the majority of the pad to be in cut, with the exception of the northwesterly corner fill. At this location a backhoe eaxccaavated an eight -foot square, 3 deep hole to original ground. Boulders and roots were removed from the excavated rocky brown clay sand material. Since greater than 30% of this material was retained on a'/" sieve, the ASTM 1557 test method was not applicable and the backfill was monitored by observation. The backfill material was moisture conditioned and placed in seven shallow lifts. Each lift was compacted with a mikasa compactor and was observed to be structurally stable. In my opinion, the material placed was suitable for structural fill and adequate to support a mobilehome residence. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call.
