Oroville, CA. Dear Sirs, Post Office Box 628 Gualala, California 95445 (707) 884.3850 July 12, 1983 Last year, we submitted engineering details to assist a Mr. P. Berzin in obtaining a building permit for a log home to be erected on acreage known as AP # 072-26-0-101-0. Said parcel is located off of Lathop Lane outside of Oroville. It has come to our attention that the building differs from the plans in a way that might not be obvious to the building inspector but such that it affects the structural integrity of the building. I wish to go on record that I did not authorize, condone or contribute to the variance. If you examine sheet 2 of 9 of the engineering, you will notice that there are,calculations for a "main cantilever beam over dining -room and_supporting end log of loft". The plans called for an upstairs wall, which carried the roof load, to transfer a weight on the supported end of the cantilever. We have been led �Y to believe that the owner has relocated the wall so that it no longer bears over the end of the cantilever beam. We feel that this poses a very'serious problem .4 which could very easily have been left unnoticed by the inspector. We have not advised the -owner of the condition as we were led to believe that he would not care to know about it.
