The present zoning is A-5 (Agricultural, 5 acre parcels). The Land Use Plan Map of the Butte County' General ""lan designates this area Agricultural -Residential. The proposal is substantial ly in conformity with the policies of the Butte County General Plan and the Butte County zoning. An initial study regarding environmental impact was performed regarding this project and certain potential impacts were identified.The applicant's engineer has 'proposed six mitigation measures to reduce or eliminate those impacts, Those mitigation measures are listed below. Mitigation measures #3 and #6 were designed to mitigate impacts regardin Wildlife,. particularly t�h� wini-er Haer. her AX0,M Copies o the revised map and the mitig4Eion measure were sub�- mitted to the Department of Fish and Game for their comments as to the adequacy of the mitigation measures. That department's comments indicate that this proposal would further reduce winter deer range in Butte Count (letter of May 23, 1984) and that their specific concerns in regard of the revised map are as on the attached letter from the Department of Fish and Game dated auly 3, 1984, References in that letter to transportation corridors and designated crossing windows refer to the draft policies of the Butte. County Deer Herd Study Panel report which is currently in ;hearings: Since the Department of Fish and Came indicates that: this project Would have an avoidable impact pn Wildlife, .it is recommended that this project be denied pursuant to the provisions of the California State Map Act regarding wildlife impacts if the project. is approved, the following six mitigation measures should be attached to the project.
