The scope of our services was directed toward compaction testing only after the earthwork related to the construction of the building pads, at the above referenced sites. We performed one field nuclear density test on the earthwork for each of the building pads after completion of the grading operations. These tests indicated that, in the building pad locations tested, the earthwork was compacted to at least 90 percent relative compaction per ASTM D 1557. We employed earthwork compaction testing procedures that are in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical engineering practices in the Northern California area. We do not undertake the guarantee of the construction nor do we relieve the grading contractor of his primary responsibility to produce a completed project conforming to the owner's directions and/or the project plans and specifications. In addition, our work did not include certifying dimensions and elevations-- such work should be performed by the Civil Engineer and/or Surveyor for this project. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties whether expressed or implied. Please note that weathering, activities of man, etc., can cause the soils to become unstable, or there may be unseen/untested portions of the fill that are unstable, in which cases, the soils may have to be reprocessed as engineered fill. If the pad remains vacant for six months or there are any indications of instability during any phase of construction, then the geotechnical engineer should be retained to make evaluations/assessments and recommendations for remedial measures, as he may deem necessajy.
