RE: Housing Complaint — 6280 Lincoln Blvd., Oroville, CA/AP#36-291-34.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Porter:
This -department received a complaint alleging health and safety
hazards in the above listed rental dwelling. The Butte County
Assessor's records indicate you are the owners of the property.
On May 2, 1985, I visited the property and the tenant permitted
ME to inspect the dwelling unit. The following conditions were
otserved which are in violation of the California Administrative
Ccde, Title 25, Chapter 1, Subchapter 1, Section 32; and the
California Health and Safety Code, Section 17920.3 (a)(3), (b),
(d), (e), (f), (g), and (1); and which pose health or safety
hazards to the tenants.
1. The kitchen sink trap plumbing leaks. Drainboards slope away
from sink flooding counter top.
2. Floor is rotted and deteriorated in rear porch by laundry
facility. There are no piers or foundation under the rear of the
hcuse, scr.ewjacks are sloping or falling over.
3. Electric wall receptacles are inoperative in living room and
bedroom. Wiring is exposed on wall switch in living room.
4. Electrical service to garage.is laying on the ground, wiring
is unprotected on rear porch. Junction box has openings acid five
wires running into it.
5. There are open splices on wall near fuse boxes. Attic has
open splices and deteriorated wiring.' Wiring appears overloaded.
Service wiring .from meter to house appears unsafe. There are open
splices and unprotected wiring on front porch.

6. Water heater is too close to combustibles, flue is no good,
there:is no discharge line to outside from temperature -pressure
relief valve.
7. Front door has broken window. Bathroom window frame is rotted
and deteriorated and could fall in tub.
8.' Bedroom door on north side of house, knob and latch inoperative.
These conditions shall be corrected as follows, and within THIRTY
(30) DAYS from receipt of this.notice. Obtain all required permits
from the Butte County Department of Public Works before beginning
repairs.

Repair bedroom door latch so bedroom door will open in the
event of fire.
A reinspection will be made. Failure to comply, will result in
the Franchise Tax Board being notified of your non-compliance.
You will then be prevented from claiming state tax deductions for
taxes, depreciation, amortization, -or interest expenses connected
with th.e property as long as it remains substandard. This notice
is given to you p.ursuant to Sections 17299 and 24436.5 of the
California Revenue and Taxation Code.
