Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ogletree:
This is a formal warning notice notifying you that the following violation
exists at the above referenced location.
Failure to maintain the building in a safe and hazard free condition
in violation.of the provision of the 1994 Uniform Building Code and
Sections 17922 and 18941.5 of the California Health and Safety Codes
as follows:
(a) Section 102 --Unsafe Building
The above violation shall be corrected or abated by demolition or removal -
by obtaining permits to do the required work. After permit issuance, the
work must be completed and approved by this office within the specified
time.
This is your final warning. Unless you contact this office and make the
proper arrangements to correct or abate the violation(s) voluntarily, within
ten (10) days from the date of this letter, enforcement shallbe pursued
through the issuance of a citation (ordering you to appear in court) for
said violation(s) and for failing to comply with this warning letter.
Upon conviction of said violation(s) .or of failing to comply with this
letter, the court shall impose penalties (fines) and a Notice of Violation
shall be recorded in accordance with Butte County Code Section 41-7. The
Notice of Violation shall include a description of the premises the violation
concerns, a description of the violation, the date of your conviction and
the action necessary to correct or abate the violation(s).

Upon request, this office reviewed
August 15, 1975, and again today on

The building, which consists of-unreinforced block and concrete construction
has sustained considerable damage due to the earthquake.- It appears that
previously many major cracks were in existence'and.the earthquake reopened
many .of these;,,cracks. In addition new cracks are evident throughout, par-
ticularly the N/E corner, the north side of the building,.the restroom and
storage walls and the west side of the building. The fireplace has also
sustained additional damage and the chimney is broken.
Since this building cannot be readily reinforced and since it is very doubt-
ful it would sustain another earthquake of a similar magnitude to that.on
August 1, 1975, and due to the major damage sustained, it is the recommenda
tion of this office that you vacate the building immediately.
I do not believe that the building is capable of economical rehabilitation
and repair, but should you so desire, I:suggest.you contact a civil engineer
licensed -by the State of California to review the building and present.a
structural evaluation and proposal torus for review.
