The inspection was made as part of the rehabilitation program currently underway in the E1- Medio area south of Oroville. The dwelling is_a one story wood frame house with vinyl siding, composition roof, cement perimeter foundation, and is served by community sewer and water, natural gas•and electricity. Roofing i's' in poor condition. Electrical service is substandard. Wood stove lacks proper hearth and separation from combustibles (mantle). Water heater lacks double wall flue, temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line, proper gas line and shut-off valve (flex line currently passes through flooring) and compartment lacks roof and provision for combustion air. Patio door stairs has improper riser. West side deck lacks proper spacing of vertical members of handrails. Floor has offset between bedroom and kitchen creating a hazard. In order to rehabilitate the, house under this program, the following items will be required. 1. Complete repairs and corrections as listed in work write-up for Ken and Denise Underwood, dated January 29, 1988. 2. Provide proper hearth and separation from combustibles (mantle area) for wood stove. j 3. Provide proper installation for water heater with double wall flue, temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line, rigid gas line and gas shut-off valve, proper compartment with roof and combustion air makeup. 4. Level floor of bedroom to eliminate off set between kitchen and bedroom. 7. Provide two smoke detectors, one in rear bedroom, and one in hallway to front bedrooms. The following items although not required are strongly recommended to effectively prolong the useful life of the dwelling and/or to make it more habitable. 1. Provide new cooling facility. 2. Provide insulation of� walls to R-11 and ceilings to R-19 standards. Most `of the items listed will require permits and inspections from the Butte County Department of Public Works. Permits may be obtained at 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965.. All repairs, reconstruction, replacement or patching shall be completed to the extent necessary to result in a finished product.
