With reference to. the above subject and your request for a Special Inspection
of the portion of the garage converted to a storage room at 48 Rosita Way
in Oroville, the inspection was made on June 9, 1989.
The storage room was constructed by a previous owner without permits and
inspections from this office, so we were unable to: perform the required
inspections during construction. We therefore made a reasonable inspection,
without going on the roof, under the building, or in the. attic, and found
the .storage room appears to conform to the intent of housing code require-
ments.
This inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee.or warranty
as to the internal soundness of said work.
Should you have any questions concerning this matter, .please contact this
office.

To whom it may concern,
Attached is an application for a special inspection to be done
on the above property along with a plat plan and floor plan
of the storage area built inside the garage.
The owners, David and Lawrence Tungate, received this property
upon the death of their parents who purchased the home in 1968.
The storage area was built prior to 1971, but there seem to be
no records of a permit.
This request for the special inspection is being made because
the home is in escrow to be sold under VA financing. The
condition of the VA loan is that "Local authority to Certify
that the Garage conversion or addition conforms to local standards
by the local building authority".
